I bought 2 of their segmented cutter heads. One for Ridgid jointer and one for Jet planner/jointer combo. Zero issues and cheaper then others
That's exactly where I got the head for my Rigid jointer. The belt pulley was a little tighter to press on than the original, but it fit perfectly and has held up well. I am yet to turn an insert. I don't remember where/how I found them, but the price was enough to give it a try.
Those Domino cutters look pretty slick. I didn't know they even existed. The only ones I have ever made were 6mm and 8mm. I used a 1/4" beading bit for the 6mm and a 5/16" for the 8mm.
The Makita miter saw that I we talked about a week or so ago came in today.
I went for the cordless version. The original shipping date was supposed to be 2/26 to 3/5, but somehow it showed up early?
It mostly fit right where the DeWalt came out. Side to side it was fine, but the bed is about 1/4" higher.
As a temporary fix, I just added some 1/4" MDF to the supports and raised the Kreg stops.
This thing looks a lot bigger, but I think it's mostly the bed area. The round support is wider, making the base bigger. The fences don't slide outward, like the DeWalt does, they just lift off of a pin and tab arrangement. It's different, but works ok.
It does have a secondary safety switch on the main trigger, but it's easy enough to work with either hand.
It only took a few minutes to square up in the vertical direction, the horizontal was correct out of the box.
I even hit the Kreg stops within 1/8" when I screwed it down.
The 40 tooth blade, that came with it, is a bit much for my daily use, so I swapped the one out of the old saw.
Fortunately, the dust fitting fits the Festool "tool hose" size, so now I will have to adapt the CT end size to my 4" port in the back of the stand. It's not permanent, but will work until I get it to the home shop.
I might have a bunch of trim to cut tomorrow, so the test is coming.
