Something I NEVER thought I'd buy .. a Dewalt vacuum. It was 50% off and then my son as an employee got another 50% off that so I got an ugly big Dewalt HEPA vac with extra bags and filters for $200AUD.

Obviously mine is 240V.

I've been trying so hard to make Makita my only Festool +1 tool choice but some bargains are too hard. Rural life has certainly altered my tool acquiring disciplines.

Do you think Santa will bring me the new Makita framing nailer?

I bought this set of drills with chamfer heads.  I only needed the #4 combo, but the entire set cost $16.00 from Amazon, and I could not find a just-#4-combo.
I need that.  Got a link to the one you got?

Keep in mind that this set is for the very smallest of wood screws.  I did find some very nice #4 wood screws at a good price on Amazon.

Note:  The link keeps showing my personal information.  I’ll figure this out in a bit.

thats probably because you are logged in to amazon.  do a private window in the browser and paste that link in there.  most likely it won't show your info there

I couldn’t figure it out, but I have this workaround.  Just below is an image of the Amazon listing.  It is not a link.

This is very frustrating.  When I listed the link it showed everything I ever bought and appeared to allow ordering.  Not information I would normally share.  Maybe on other computers my data would not appear. But I have no way of determining that.  In any case the workaround works—I checked.

If you copy the wording below the image and enter it in the Amazon search it will bring you right to it.

Or do the same on Google and then pick the “Vouyar” listing.

Either way, $14.99 + tax plus shipping if you are not a Prime member.  It reads like a good value.  Durability will determine if it is or not.

And again, these are for very small screws.

I bought the small Knipex pipe wrench to Putin my van.  I have the large one that stays in the shop.  Also bought small West Systems G/flex 650 epoxy kit to try for repairs that experience movement.

Here is a link in case anyone is interestedhttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0D8SZC3HW/

There was a science fiction movie where aliens take over human bodies.

When I click your link I see all my data too.  My guess is that the data is supplied by the host computer, but I’m not sure.

I used to be able to link Amazon here.  It must have been lost to some other improvement of the customer experience.

The worrisome part is that it seems too damn cheap. So until I have used it a while, I am saying, If the durability is there, this is a good buy.

What reassured me was there were several nearly identical offerings at that same price.  So it seems like it is the market value.

Thanks for that information.

Let’s hope the set is durable.  The packaging made a good presentation.

I also ordered some 3/32” hex shank drill bits. Lowes was out of that size.  Typically, Lowes sells these for $6.50 for a single bit or $8.50 for a pair in these small sizes in DeWalt brand.

Amazon has a no-name brand that sells 12 pieces for $10.50.  They have better deals on larger amounts.

I never used this size bit on steel.  Sometimes on brass, but usually on wood.  And I rarely wear them out.  I will usually break them (accidentally).  I have a little Bosch electric screwdriver that I use with these small sizes lately and I am breaking very few.

I have an earlier version.  This one looks a little larger and has a different battery.  The handle locks in the straight or pistol grip which is an improvement.  It has a very repeatable and accurate clutch.  Which is also good.  Mine is low powered; the larger battery probably means more power.  But the best reason for this is not breaking bits and not over tightening screws.

If you're looking for low-power screwdrivers, there are lots of compact and affordable models available. Here's a good reviews:

If you really want one of the bigger ones:

I receiving a Milwaukee heated jacket with one of the new flat batteries.  I’ve wanted one but did not want the standard M12 battery stuck in my back.]

Yeah, in 2018 or 2019 I bought one of those jackets that used the buldgy 12 volt batteries. Hated it and returned it. That's when I got on the Makita 12volt platform, which of course led me to the Makita 18 volt platform. Beside the jacket, the Milwaukee 12 volt tools all had larger hand grips than I'd like, because of that battery design.

So because of those 12 volt batteries, Milwaukee lost me as a customer. Makita also had a battery router before Milwaukee, so that was a happy (later) outcome for me. That said, I do occassionally see Milwaukee or DeWalt battery tools that I wish Makita had, but in my small home shop there hasn't been anything compelling enough to adopt a second battery platform.

What's ironic is that the battery in the hand grip design started, I believe, with Makita's early battery tools.

Got an Olsa screwdriver organizer to hold my Wiha anniversary screwdriver set for in my shop.  I have a Wera set at my house, I wanted to check out Wiha's screwdrivers as I already use their driver bits.
