What Was Your First Cordless Tool?

Mine was a Makita cordless drill in the 1983-1984 range.  Mine was one that had a permanent battery - not a removable one.

Black and Decker cordless drills in early 80's.  Then 9.6v  Makitas, Freud 14v drill, 14v Makitas, 12 Milwaukee, 18v Milwaukee, now Festool CSX and 18v, 18v Metabo, 18v Fein, 24v Flex, Metabo HPT

The good old 7.2v Makita, so tough you could drop it from a roof and it would laugh at you!

Was pretty expensive as I recall though, as most tools were back then.

Porter Cable (Metabo) 9.6v two speed cordless drill. Best I remember it was 400\1200 rpm non variable speed but it did have a brake. It worked well until the ni-cad batteries wore out. Purchased in 1984.

A Snap-On 9 volt drill. Wow didn’t last long. Weak and the battery wouldn’t last long.

As a newer home owner many years ago I bought the firestorm cordless’s kit, drill and various other battery stuff. Framing my basement over taxes it pretty fast and Ridgid was just releasing their first 18v kit so I bout it and it is still running great.
