Peter suddenly has a new avatar, and I think it is of him in a hospital bed.

With the thumbs up, one can assume he will be OK.

Anyway Peter all the best for a speedy recovery.

Yes, it is me.  I am lying in bed staring at the clock waiting for surgery tomorrow morning.  It is cancer.  It all has happened so quickly since I went to a general practitioner on August 4th.  The final diagnosis wasn't completed until last Friday about noon.

My cancer is testicular - with a twist.  The tumor is actually in my abdomen and although you really can't see a difference - and I am a skinny guy - and am 20 pounds skinnier than in any of my videos - the mass is about the size of 6 - 500 ml water bottles.  That is not a typing error.  I am extremely fortunate that my tumor is even more rare and that it is extremely fast growing - AND as such EXTREMELY CURABLE thru the use of chemo.  Because of all these situations, my age - mid 50's, luck, and probably the good karma and thoughts by friends and family, the Cancer Research Center arm of the National Institute of Health is providing the medical care to me at no cost in exchange for the rights to the tumors and the data obtained thru the surgery and treatments for their research.

That my friends is what is in my mind considered a miracle whereas at this time I am uninsured.

The chemo rounds starting in 11 days will be brutal, but thru it all I will have the FOG.

With all sincerity, thank you for your thoughts and wishes.  The FOG has seen me thru a lot in the last 5 years, and I am sure the goodwill will help get me past this obstacle also.

Peter

Get well soon, Peter!  We are here for you buddy.  Hang tough.  Remember, Lance Armstrong had testicular cancer, too.  Not cancer, but I have to have my left hip replaced soon.  Dang it.

Good Karma will pull you through Peter.

You'll be fine my friend.

Waho
All The Best

Peter

I hope everyone agrees that the FOG will be pulling for you and keeping you in our prayers for a full recovery.  Stay strong and fight on!!

Are you lending them your trion or Carvex to remove the tumor?

You are in my thoughts and prayers my friend. I wish you well on this rocky journey and if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask your brethren on this thread.

I do hear that if you need some help with chemo sickness, there is another kind of "Green" that they can distribute for that. ;)

Rest well Peter...

I hope you don't mind Peter... but I changed my avatar for you buddy.  That way I can keep an eye on you.  ;)

Bryan

Peter.  We have spoken and you are aware of all my feelings. You have been a wonderful friend to all on FOG and I can tell you there will be a lot of support and pray being sent your way.
Speaking for all of us on FOG, Good Luck and best wishes

Cancer sucks, but if anyone can beat it I'm sure you can. And, FWIW, I've been down the uninsured major medical path. I'm glad to hear that you are being taken care of.

Can we help by sending any contraband? Think your doctors would like some 'Festool Fan' stickers?

[wink]

Darn, Peter!

Please feel free to call me any time. I almost always answer my phone. I have a good friend about our age that beat cancer a little while back. He wanted to talk a lot.

I'm here if you want...

Tom

I only know you from your great contribution here and we all appreciate it.  I will keep you in my thoughts. It sounds like you have a great positive attitude! Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Best to you Peter. Meeting you at Festool training was one of the highlights of my time there.
