im looking for something tough but with thinner fabric which is breathable, has anyone tried the snickers cool twill ?
cheers

All I wear are snickers trousers I think the are the floor layers ones very comfortable lots of leg room and a good gusset

Ye they are on the thin side but strong I tried the dewalts and mascot and a few others had to stop wearing the my legs would soak with sweat

I like the mascots although I accept they are quite thick and on the warm side (almeda) but the 3/4 short (jacca) are quite a good compromise; same pocket arrangement, cordura reinforcements and knees and long enough for knee pads but a lot cooler than the full length trouser which I can only wear in winter / outside.

i dont think the need to be as thick as they are, really want to find some breathable ones to regulate my temperature better

I really like the snickers

You can get snickers shorts (still with knee pads ) that might help the temp

Although most sites I've been on in the UK for the last few years don't allow you to wear shorts

I use snickers made with the rip stop material, very light but just as tough.

This year I bought the Strauss motion 2020, same material as the standard motion trouser but with a zip over a mesh panel running down the back of the leg. The draft that blows throu with the zip open is very refreshing (and it lets out farts in double quick time!!)

This year has not been the hottest summer but definately a big improvement and zipped up they are just as warm as a usual pair of work trousers

yeah i have been looking at those but do they take foam knee pads ? have they got knee pockets ?
cheers

went for the snickers trade twill from screw fix only £45 this month, £10 off ! trade twill does not actually exist and when i phoned screwfix asking what trouser model they are selling they did not know so after looking on the snickers site i think they are the 3213
http://www.snickersdirect.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=90805

which are ideal for warm conditions im hoping this includes customers super warm heated house's they say they are breathable apparently all poly cotton material is to some extent, they are much lighter than more normal trousers and most you find for sale
the snickers knee pads seem to fit very well and are adjustable they also and hold them higher than my others which is ideal.

would love to try thise trousers with the vents in the arse next summer though !!

They most certainly do, thou I use the snickers pads as they are far better than the Strauss version.
The light weight Strauss summer trouser does not have the knee pad

Have you considered looking at the SITE range in screwfix ? Iv got the mastiff trousers and there brilliant! Reinforced knee pads, pockets and ankles, had them over a year and not a hole in sight yet
There's normally an offer on them every couple of months where they go down to £30
