I don't expect a straight answer but I'd love one. 55 is my next purchase. Predictions?

Predictions? [wink]
.
Probably a  ts25 with a narrower rail set will come out first.
(just when you thought you had all the rails you needed)
Consider it the Rotex 90 of the saw line.

There's lots of things I'd like before a TS55 update ... coz I just got one ;-)

A rail bandsaw adaption could be interesting.

How about a flexible track jigsaw guide gizmo?

To me it'd have to be a couple of years out. There's the odd chance they could introduce a battery powered track saw?!?

I remember the thread on here about what users would like to see in a next generation TS55. There are a few features on other saws that  would like to see on my TS but there is nothing out there that would make me buy elsewhere.

I have actually been developing a website over the last few weeks which will hopefully evolve into a definitive guide on all the plunge saws available in the market. It will be  few months before it goes live and I have been working on comparison tables section lately. So far I have a main features table, guide rail compatibility, costs and accessories. One area stands out like a sore thumb and it is the available accessories chart I am compiling. No-one comes even close to Festool on this count. There are arguably saws that are as good as the TS range, some even have desirable features that the Festool saws don't. However I think these are almost insignificant when you look at the bigger picture, the famous Festool system.

I have published a preview of the accessories table and anyone considering a plunge saw purchase would do well to look at how you can extend the Festool saws and rails into so much more. I would use the Festool system approach as a benchmark if I was purchasing again and see what other manufacturers can do in comparison.

The chart is here:

Plunge Saw Accessories Guide

It is incomplete, the Festool accessories should all be correct, do your own research on the others.
