Where can I purchase Metric set-up blocks

A quick and dirty solution is a set of metric hex wrenches or drill bits.  The steel has the potential to damage carbide blades unless used carefully, though.

here is the response from Richard at Woodpecker tools:

Greg,
I’m game. I was planning on making imperial ones anyway. What would be the sizes you would like? I can’t promise anything but if there’s a reasonable demand, I’ll make the metric ones at the same time.

So we need to build some support and demonstrate to Richard the demand/want for metric setup blocks.

so e-mail him if you are interested.

Thanks

I emailed Richard with my support.  I think Franks suggested sizes are fine.  I agree that the 1-2-3 blocks aren't really relevant, I just commented because they were included in the LV set.  If anyone needs them, they are readily and inexpensively available from most any industrial products supplier, e.g. MSC or McMaster Carr.

Thanks Greg, I have just emailed Richard as well.  I liked the sizes in the small set from Axminster so asked for them.  I do make use of the larger block in the Lee Valley set so asked for that too.  But, I agree that the larger block is not as important as the smaller gage bocks.

Here is an excerpt from part of my note to Richard:

I encourage Woodpeckers to provide a set of Metric tool blocks.  An ideal set for me would have one large block measuring 100mm x 50mm x 25 mm (with holes to make it lighter) as well as small bocks of the following thicknesses: 16mm, 8mm, 4mm, 2mm, 1.5mm and 1mm.  I suggest that these small blocks be 10mm wide and 100mm long.

I sent him a message as well.... hopefully we have enough support drummed up to get these on his radar!

Turbo, these are part of the requirements. We are also looking for skinier ones such as 1,2, 3, 4, 6,8,12 etc

Thanks Peter, but I am not willing to pay that much.  I'm looking for something about the price of the Veritas Imperial set that I referenced in the first post in this thread.

Thanks Tim, I think that this set of gage blocks would work well:

I wonder how much this set costs.  I was not able to find the price on-line.

Paul and Mr. Junkie, I guess that I should thank you for your assistance in finding the price.

Butm at those prices  [sad], I won't be purchasing the set.

I guess we will be waiting to see if WoodPecker makes a set [blink] at that price.
