Painting my 28 Ft fiberglass boat will requires a 120/150 grit prep for epoxy primer.
Then 320 grit prep for first coat of two part paint.
The only other tasks for the sander will be removing paint/varnish from both wood
and metal surfaces.
Previous boat jobs were completed using a 5" Porter Cable that choked up
on the epoxy primer after a few minutes of use.  I know my new
150 ETS hooked up to the CT 22 will do much better.
OK Get the 3mm (1/8") or 5mm (3/16)?
Thanks to all.  Larry

I think you want the 5 mm version. With paint, you'll never gonna notice any difference between the 3 and the 5 in how the surface is sanded and when removing paint the 5 will be a bit more agressive.

But with a boat you might even be more interested in the Rotex 150.
