Which blade/clamps?

I'm looking at picking up the TS55, the OF 1400 (with the hole drilling set) and the Domino (plus the MFT3 in a couple of months).  I bought the RO 150, DX 93, and the CT 33 a couple of months ago to refinish the stairs in my home, and was so impressed with the tools that I decided to spend the rest of my daughter's college fund. ;)

I've been lurking around FOG for a while, and now that I'm getting ready to make the big purchase, I need a little advice on a couple of the accessories.

My first Festool project will be to make some built-in cabinets/bookshelf for the family room. Which saw blade you would use to get the best cut on the plywood sheets?  Will I need the fine tooth blade?  Which blade for 2 X material?

Also, what is your experience with the Quick Clamps?

David

I get outstanding results with the stock TS-55 blade on BB ply--especially if you make sure the green anti-splinter thingie is down tight on the workpiece. I showed the saw off to a friend who had to rip some 6/4 Santos Mahogany and he was amazed at the clean cut, again with the stock blade.

The quick clamps are the ones I reach for first.

The fine tooth that comes with the TS 55 work well on plywood.  I use the same for 2x and make multiple passes if necessary.

For the clamps, there is not question, get the quick clamps.  I tried out the regular screw and the quick clamps before I bought them and reaching underneath and turning the screw clamps is a HUGE PITA, the quick is easy and instant.  They are twice the money but trust me you would not like the screw.

I would also do what you can to buy ASAP to beat the price increase.  If you cannot buy all of what you want, check out the increases and get the ones that are going up the most.

Hi,

I concur. The Fine blade comes on the TS55 will do a great job on the plywood.  It should do well enough cross cutting 2x.  And yes go with the Quick Clamps over the screw clamps.  They are so much faster and I found that sometimes vibration would loosen the screw clamps. The quick clamps also fit in several brands of T track if you have any jigs set up. The screw clamps do not.

I actually use DeWalt quick clamps on my rail, fits the rail and are easy to work with one hand. They were left over from before and I am just glad they fit.

Hi,

Could you post a pic of these?
