My 14V Ridgid drill has all but died.  I've been running on one battery for the last year and the chuck is slipping.  I've been looking at the C12's and wondering which one would best suit me, the 1.3, 2.4 or 3.0. My work ranges from fine furniture to smaller built-ins.  I have a small Bosch driver that does most of the work now but it doesn't have the strength or speed to do much drilling.  For those of you guys that have a C12 what do you think?

i would go with the 3.0 it is always better to have more power.  I also have the d handle drill with the different chucks and just love this drill  i  have, are you sitting down?  over 50 drills that I have bought over the last 10 years, and probably more.  from dewalt, which usually suck. to bosch and makita and milwaukee and porter cable.

they are all good but this d handle drill really is nice handleing etc.  the magnuts that hold the tips is great.

I use this drill alll the time along with my black and white 18v makita impactor and I have also been using some of the new 10.4 drills that work great also.

I have the C12 with 3.0Ah batteries. If I would by a new one today I would probably consider buying the 1.3Ah version...low weight is really nice. But then again, I haven't tried working with the 1.3Ah in the field, perhaps the endurance is just way to low on such a small battery.

Perhaps it would be a good idea for you to take a look at the new 12+3 and 15+3 Li-ion drills?

I went with the 1.3 just to save bulk and weight.  I have been using it for 2 years now, installing cabinets everyday, and I only change batteries a couple of times each day.  I use the C-12 to predrill and drive both hanger screws and 2 3/8" assembly screws.

I know there isn't much difference in size or weight, but in a tight spot or over my head, even fractions of an inch or a few ounces makes a big difference.  I like the 1.3.

I have the 2.4ah.  I dont even know where the rest of my drills are at.

Since they dropped the battery price maybe pick up a 1.3 as well.

I use that drill every day, inside, outside, under houses, on top of houses, anywhere and every where.

I probably only charge a battery once a week tops.

I cant decide what is my favorite part about that drill, all the different chucks or the on board storage for 6 bits.
