Which Chip Collection bag for TS55 Plunge Saw????

If you have the 2 piece hose port (toothed part that stays in the saw and the elbow), all you need is the bag.

I just would not bother, most useless Festool item I have ever purchased. I purchased it for a corded HK55. Use a Vac, or if appropriate just let the dust spew out the port. The bag fills too quickly, catches on the rail, and is made from fragile fabric rather than a canvas grade of material.

And the price!  [eek]  [eek]

Only time you might really need it is when roof framing.

The bag works great for me on my TSC55. I was surprised when I first used
it at how much sawdust it captured.

No vac hose and no power cord makes the TSC55 my favorite circular saw.

I agree, it makes cutting sheet material super fast and if you do need to cut something nasty, you can always hook up to a vac. Best of both worlds.

Festool item 500393 is the bag part number. I originally fitted it to my TS 55...loved the enhanced portability and not having the vac hose constantly catch on the rail. Dust collection is still remarkably good.

The bag is all that I've used so far on my TSC and HKC.

If I was cutting inside a house, then I would replace the bag with a dust collector.

The only thing that makes it even easier for breaking down sheet goods is the GRS16-PE. I used it the other day with my 1400 rail to split a couple 4x8 sheets of 3/4 ply into 4x4 pieces for a job.

I have a bag for each of my saws. Like anything, you have to evaluate the task at hand and choose how you're going to accomplish it.

99.?% of the time my TS saws are connected to a CT, that other 0.?% of the time the bag is very convenient.

Only you can decide if it adds value to your work flow.

The bag does fill quickly. Watch the first 4 minutes of this video and you'll get an idea how much you can cut until the bag fills and how well it collects.

I use the dust bag on my TSC55 even when I'm right over my CT.  For me, the small increase in dust is worth being completely cordless.  When it fills I just shove the 27mm hose into the bag to empty it out.  Takes two seconds.
