Which dogs for the MFT and elevating clamping elements?

I finally threw down for an MFT/3 over the weekend.  The added bonus for me is with the weather turning, I can now do a lot of work in a back room of the house rather than my shop which is in a (unheated) garage.  What a pleasure to wake up, throw on some slippers and start cutting, rather than having to bundle up and worry about my scarf or sweater getting stuck in the path of the blade, not to mention my hands turning numb and blue from the combination of cold and poor circulation.

Two questions:

1) Perusing various FOG threads it seems like the consensus choice of dogs are those made by QWAS, especially since you can get the super pack which includes two pairs of the regular dogs and a pair of the rail dogs.  Are there other dogs that equal or surpass the QWAS?

2) Is there an accessory for elevating the Festool clamping elements for those occasions where you need higher clamp support?  On a T-track assembly table, you can get risers for the track clamps, but I haven't seen anything comparable for the 20mm holes.

Thanks in advance.

IMO
1) Yes: different from or equal to
2) Due to the way the force is applied not an easy thing to do (or a good idea) The pressure of the clamp is transferred to the table at the point of contact. So there is very little leverage, but they can still lift if used to the maximum and you don't use the knob hold down. Raise the point of contact and you put a lever into the equation, bad idea.

The answer is use a different clamp.

Got it, thanks.

Do you know of some good options for clamps that apply horizontal pressure that are compatible with the MFT?

If the clamping elements aren't enough

Then you will probably need more than 1 clamping point anyway
