Thanks Guys.

If you go for the Festool combo you better chose for the T15 and the TI15 Impact.
Then you can swap the batteries between both machines.
Or if you buy the TI15-Impact Basic version (body only) you pay a lot less and still have the 2 batteries from the T15.
The Basic version comes in a nice SYS 3 systainer where is a place for a second drill like the T15 or C15 models.
Unfortunately Festool still has no TI18 Impact version.

I have no recommendations for the choice between the different brands.
Although I think that Makita and DeWalt these days have smaller and lighter machines.
Hilti also has a few nice drills but are in the same league as Festool.
But Festool has 3 years warranty on the batteries. i don't know about the other companies.
If you already have other green machines in systainers it's always nicer to buy the Festool drills.
The T15 is a real killer and the most versatile drill from Festool.
The TI15 is a hybrid drill and can perform drilling and screwing also and is not a heavy impact machine.

If your intended use is light construction, which is what I do, I opted for the T15 and Ti15. The Ti15 is plenty powerful for driving in deck screws and the few pieces that I build. I have also used it to drive in Tapcon screws but I did predrill the holes. It is also nice to be able to swap batteries.

If you don't mind another log on the fire, I've been extremely happy with Milwaukee M18 FUEL drill drivers and hammer drill drivers. Don't have one of their impacts yet but will in a few months, but the hammer drill has filled in nicely for many similar tasks.

http://www.milwaukeetool.com/power-tools/cordless?product+systems=m18+fuel

it looks good too

They're powerful with long lasting batteries (thanks to the brushless motors in the FUEL line) and the T-handle on the drill drivers has been more handy than I expected, especially with the power they can deliver.

For the same cost of the festool you can get the dewalt 20 volt 5 piece lithium ion set.  So great to have a skillsaw and sawsall which dont require a cord.  The skill saw is money, really like how its molded to the hand, same as the drills and skillsaw.  Best set I've ever used, and I use them alot!  I've dropped the impact and regular drill many times off the roof and staging and they didn't break, but if they did replacing them would be relatively cheap.  You won't be disappointed.  There's a lot of dewalt haters, but I cannot figure out where it comes from.

Unless Dewalt has changed in the last 3 years, I went through the multi kit and replaced two bushings in the drill. Pre lithium ions... I could have bought two Festool XYZ given the amount of batteries I went through. Dewalt just left a sour taste in my mouth.

I had the xrp set for four years I believe.  The only time the batteries went bad on me was when I left them in the radio after the battery died. The radio would slowly drain the battery until they were ruined.   After learning from that the other three are still going strong and my wife and father in law still use the old set.    The lithium ion 20 v set is making me happy I bought it every time I use them.  I will be getting a t18 and a c15 at some point, but the cms is singing to me.

Panasonic really hasn't caught on in the states at all.  Looking on amazon you only find less than a dozen reviews and there's a lot of negative feedback, mainly burnt out motors and new batteries going bad.  There are hundreds and hundreds of reviews on the dewalt drills and the negative feedback is almost all about the carrying case  [tongue].  I've heard hilti's are great but have never used one.

I have the t15 and the ti15 impact, power on the ti15 is above average but if your wanting the most powerful in my opinion I would go with Panasonic, there drills are fantastic, only reason I never went with them is because I've went all green lol and could live with that little bit less power

Samer , you know you want festool !!!! Othervise you wouldn't be here  ;D

Just bought both the new Milwaukee M12 Fuel impact driver and M12 Fuel Hex Screw driver. Both are great compact units that have brushless motors and deliver great power, for the size and weight. More than adequate for cabinet construction, finish work and light framing.

If you want to standardise on Systainers and leverage Festool warranty and service the choice is simple. If you want some other specific brand and don't care about Centrotec that's a different story.

The Ti15 is a good impact for light construction ... but it's not the "best" impact on the market. If you're happy to pay a premium for an impact that isn't "the best" but is compatible with all of your other cordless Festools, Systainers, Centrotec, etc buy a C15 or T15 plus a Ti15. I was.
