Which part of the track is the Router Guide Stop supposed to mount to?

I found an inconsistency between the marketing images (including the image that appears inside the systainer lid) and the instructions.

Which of these is correct?

I'm assuming the second one, because the solid ridge is supposed to be the "true" one, since it's also the one that the track saw hugs.

Oh, but look at what he shows on Festool Live from 2020!

He's got it riding on the outside, groved ridge. Weird.

Both work equally fine.

The jigsaw always rides on the open top ridge. Cause otherwise the rail would become smaller.
You can see in the PS 300 guide rail adapter there is a cutout to accommodate the pre 2004 rails. (The open top ridge wasn't there before then.)
