Hello !

Sorry for my english, it's not my mother tongue;)

I have recently a festool conturo and festool mfk 700. I would like a rounded finish as in this picture for the bands that I just stuck with the conturo. Do you know the reference of the tool I need to buy?

Regards

Welcome to the FOG [member=70110]csamain[/member]

I believe that cutter is the "Roundover cutter with reversible blades". It's not the cheapest cutter, but it has blades that can be rotated and used 4 times, and then replaced.

Depending on the radius you want, it has a different Order No.

Radius 1mm, Order No. 499811
Radius 1.5mm, Order No. 499810
Radius 2mm, Order No. 499809
Raidus 3mm, Order No. 499808

I don't have a Conturo so can't try personally, but I understand the advantage of the Festool bit I described is that it is designed to trim the edge banding and cut the radius at the same time without marring the top surface of the panel. I'm not sure a normal roundover bit would be able to do that with the same level of finish and precision.

Perhaps others with real-world experience will provide further thoughts?

I don’t have a Conturo as well, but @GarryMartin is right (as usual).

The bits mentioned are the right ones.
And I can vouch for them being extremely sharp and brilliant for edging/roundovers with the MFK700. [emoji1303]

Thank you for your answers !

I'm lost ... Festool belgium tells me that I have to use Festool 499798, you tell me that I should use festool 499808/9/10/11 and a guy on a french woodworking forum that uses this machine tells me to take the festool 500368.

I thought this job was very simple and finally, it looks like you have to be an engineer to choose the right tool. I do not know what to do, each item is quite expensive and if it's not the one I need ... arg!

499798 looks like it would be an option if you're happy with a 2mm radius and is listed as compatible with the MFK 700. It has a 10 degree transition to prevent it from marring the surface. If Festool Belgium have told you this is the correct item and it doesn't do what you want, then you'd be quite within your rights to return it as not fit for purpose.

500368 has no roundover; it's a planing bit, so not suitable for the use you describe.
