Hello all.  Trying to decide if I should go with D27/D32 hose or get D36 with reducer.
I have TS55, OF 1400 and df500, etsc 125  So hose diameter is split down the middle.  2 take d36 and 2 take D27 end.  Which would you recommend?

Thank you

The D27 end will fit inside the port on the D36 tools, instead of over the outside like it does on the DF500, etc.

Based on those individual tools, unless you're doing a bunch of end milling or large bit work with the OF1400, the D32/27 hose should be just fine, and it takes up less room and is less unwieldy to boot.

Others will tell you to future-proof with a D36 hose just in case.

Others may tell you to get a completely different hose entirely.

It's all about what work you do with the tools, but those 4 in particular don't really need a 36 other than the caveat above.  IMHO.

Thank you . Good info.

Do I need a reducer for d36 hose or will it fit sander and df500 without an adapter?

This may not be the answer you want, but.... both?

I have my 36 hose on a boom, for the tracksaw.  When I want to use a smaller tool with no 36mm port, I use the 27 hose as an extension (the big end of the 27 fits on the little end of the 36)

This works well, because the tracksaw rarely leaves the MFT, but the little tools can reach all over the shop with the extra hose added on.

I tried the reducer, and it works but kinda kills the mood.

That’s not a bad idea. Need to look into the boom . Right now my vacuum is near my bench so swapping hoses is annoying

I use the big one for the plane (EHL 65) and floor cleaning. Sometimes with the TS 55 when it just happens to be closest. Pretty much everything else with the D27 hose.

I'd say both too. You get the small one with the vac, buy the big one with a cleaning set and done.

I’m using it with flex vacuum and Bosch cleaning set. I guess I’ll get the smaller and add d36 if needed

That's exactly how I did it. I use the D27 with most of the tools, using the D36 on the fence of the router table or with bigger bits of the OF1400.

The way I chose to get my D36 hose was to buy the 576837 Tradesman/Installer Cleaning Set.  The set is $275 and includes various cleaning tools in a SysGen3 M437 Systainer.  The hose by itself is $175, I figure the Systainer and cleaning tools are well worth $100.

Definitely get both. The 36 for saws and large routers the 27 for sanders. It's ideally suited in terms of weight and manoeuvrability. I quite like the sleeved version of the 27 comes wrapped with a power cord too.

Ben.

I tried sleeved version and ended up returning it, wasn't a fan

They don't come with a compatible hose??

I have the D36 on my boom arm. Then I built a 1m hose with the D27 hose connectors on both side. This then slides inside the D36 hose. I’m liking it at a lot. Better than the adapter Festool makes.

I’ll bet you’ll find using a 36mm hose with a sander and domino annoying after about a minute of use.

Get the 32/27 hose and this if you end up needing a larger one:

Centec
https://www.amazon.com/WORKSHOP-Wet...f=sr_1_29?crid=2GZ7K7N4VAQNX&keywords=cen-tec+vacuum+hose+shop+vac&qid=1640006225&sprefix=cen-tec+vacuum+hose+shop+vac%2Caps%2C71&sr=8-29

this is also a good “tweener” for tools that need more flow :
Bosch

I actually have the centec one. So I guess I’ll get the d27/32 hose and use the one I have for larger tools . Was trying to avoid swapping hoses but I guess I will need to do it
