Who has a new tool released here the States today?

the DWC looks like a rebadged Protool Duradrive.  Looks exactly the same except the it's orange instead of green. Sure beats the way I learned how to hang drywall... balancing a sheet on my head and using a hammer and nail to secure it!  :o  That may have been the hardest job I ever had...

YEP - I have corded and cordless versions in orange.

The stand for the Syslite Duo looks similar to one of König & Meyer speaker stand models (which, if so,  would explain why it ain't junk).  Is it straight up compatible with speaker/pa stands?  I'd consider that a good selling point.

Don't think it will work with anything other than the Duo. You can see how it attaches in Peter's video around the 3:30 mark.

Wife and daughters pooled to buy me the Sys Lite Duo. I looked at the Milwaukee version pretty hard before I got my hands on the Duo. It is a beast the Milwaukee is a toy. The Duo is four times the light 8000 vs 2000 lumens. Milwaukee has already had to redesign their stands because the plastic clamps break.

If this tripod breaks it is taking something with it. It is a serious piece of gear. Kind of surprised at no power switch.  I guess that is one less thing to break. Hard to believe but at $400 this is s a better deal than brand M.

I have the syslite Duo. Nice very bright daylight balanced light. The lightstand appeared to be overkill? Yet I can understand their mentality, since this is used for construction and people and things could potentially, bump into the light.

DWC is next on the buy-list. The Hilti screw gun I bought this year will get sold on Craigslist after I finish the next job.

I like many of my Festools very much, I betting I have far more than most people in my shop, but we need compare apples to apples so I will play devils advocate.

I am not sure how you compare a Milwaukee that I have seen many times on sale for 199.99, today 227.00 that includes the stand? How many more times is the cost of this new Festool light with the strand?I could buy what, 4 Milwaukee lights for the same cost and place them all in different positions. Milwaukee redesigning the stand isn't a bad thing it's a good thing, Festool has let things go for years  with no redesign!

Milwaukee is coming out with the 9ah battery in Jan, once their new LED hits the market it may be a no brainer.

At $227 you can buy 1.91 Milwaukee lights for the cost of the Duo set, $435.  Assuming the 2000 lumens is correct for the Milwaukee light you'd need four to match the Duo's 8000 lumens.  That would be $227x4=$908.  In fairness there could be an advantage to having four lights over one, of course there are downsides too.

I have both the Milwaukee 2361-20- 1100 lumen and the 2360-20 3000 lumen M18 cordless lights and they are both great.  I bought the Duo as it is a more permanent worksite light.  All of these light have one major misstep...non have a standard tripod threading either the 5/8 or 1/4 20.  I know Festool designs their tools to work with their accessories $$$.  How many serious contractors do not already have at least one tripod for their layout tools.  I immediately made adaptor bases for each of these lights but it really is rediculous and APIA that they do not come with that option.

I know Shane disagreed, but I have a feeling that the Duo is compatible with a standard, just not the screw-mount type.
I'm not buying anything else until 2017; so someone else will have to test it out. :)

Shane, this is what I'm getting at, for clarification:

I'm not suggesting someone would save money by buying with a different name stamped on it (they won't).    But it would be good to find out if the diameters are the same for the few that already have stands lying about.    Awesome light, either way.  Super light + indestructible.
