I'll say again that Bill at Festool Supply is much like Tom ... uses the tools all the time, knows them inside and out and provides excellent service and knowledge. I have been through a couple Festool dealers and Bill is first rate..

Can I vote for myself Tools-Plus - probably not. I just signed into this Forum and I happened to notice this post. But......if you happen to be in Connecticut - Check us out.
On a recent commercial job I desperately needed some dust bags for the small sanders (The ETS125 and the RTS400 share the same small dust bag) I had 5 guys working for me and one CT. Being too tight to buy more CTs and needing a bunch of sanding done today I called Tom Bellemare at www.tool-home.com.
He didn't have the box of bags I needed but raided his stock of sanders to collect as many as I needed, then ordered the box to replace his stock.
Not such a big deal to a dealer, a sale of $34.00 is not enough to warrant messing around with re-packing sander systainers. But I needed dust bags and Tom went above and beyond to provide them.
I'm not a hobbyist, when I need something I need it right now if not sooner. Tom (as always) came through for me.
Just wanted to post this note to show my appreciation of a truly professional dealer. (as well as a darn nice guy)
Have to make another mention for an exceptional dealer, Tom Bellemare at www.tool-home.com got a phone call last night, I desperately a heavy power cord (The one without the extra tab) for my TS55.
So later I'm at his house, having a beer at 10:00pm picking up my new cord.
Anyone got any good "My dealer's better than your dealer" stories to beat that?
Reading through all these posts makes me realize that customer service is NOT dead . Just look at how many different dealers are mentioned with rave reviews. Guess I am just coming to understand how much that factors into my purchasing decisions - along with the quality of the tools themselves of course. I have tremendous respect for all the on-line dealers as they put so much effort into their business.
I started my Festool addiction years ago and have purchased 90+% from Bob Marino. One of the "service is king" dealers. One time I needed a small item really quick - of course I just had to add a tool to that order - and he had it delivered to me before it ever got billed.
I have had lots of satisfaction with McFeelys as well as I sometimes add consumables to my other items I order from them.
My only complaint and recommendation to Festool is that they review the brick-and-morter stores periodically. There is one here in Louisiana listed on Festool USA website as a dealer that does not stock a single item. They only sell if someone comes in and specifically asks then they will order it. No way they should be listed as a dealer. I called the dealer and he asked me why I would want to purchase Festool. Sheesh.
Tom from http://www.tool-home.com/products/catalog/ has patiently fielded my questions by phone and email. I got the big blow-off from the local rep that we met at a product demo day at the lumber yard, and the W.C. guys have been less than so-so when I have gone in the store and was ready to spend money.
The internet and UPS have leveled the playing field, because all of us can just as easily do business with fine reps such as Tom or Bob even though they might be thousands of miles away.
I love my local dealer. Woodworkers Paradise in Lumberton Texas. They sell all the big stationary tools but they love Festool. They know a lot but they are always interested in things I've tried. They put on a clinic one Saturday a month where they make a router table with dust collection and drawers from baltic birch using Festool to break down the plywood and Kreg for pocket holes. I think it's a Kreg plan. I've bought all my tools and most off my consumables from them. They are about 12 miles from me and I pay sales tax so I can have someone to go shoot the breeze with about Festool and other tools face to face.
