Why is a good cup of coffee so hard to find?

Ok, guys, along similar lines, impressions of those K-cups - Kuerig?

We love them. I have the single-cup B40 at my shop and my wife has the mini B30 at her office. We use the Emeril's Big Easy Bold, makes a darn good cup of coffee with very little mess.

But my MAIN coffee machine is the Cusinart DGB-600BC:

It grinds the beans just before brewing, and has a thermal carafe (no burner) that keeps the coffee fresh for hours. mmm mmm good!

Bob.

I don't have any experience with the k kup, but I've had good experience with our Nespresso machine for the past 5 years or so.

Sometimes I am hesitant to recommend a $300 coffee maker to people. They think you are trying to show your toys. "And I guess that you have a $700 circular saw too?" Well, yes I do.

The Technivorm is a Dutch product. No bells or whistles, kinda homely. It does one thing perfectly. The 1st drop of water is between 195-205 deg. So is the last drop. Most don't get hot enough. My Bunn got to 181. The few that do get hot enough usually then go way past and scald the coffee.  It really translates to a great cup of coffee. strong but not bitter. I'm from New Orleans where we take coffee really seriously. This is as good as Brennan's or Commanders Palace coffee. Williams- Sonoma has em and I believe they have a 30 return like Festool.
