Will new systainers be sent with Festool tools?

If Festool is changing systainers, does that mean that tools in the future will be sent in the new systainers?  In that case, then the SKU numbers will change and old inventory will be obsolete.  Just wondering if I can look for clearance sales in the future for tools in (now) obsolete systainers.

Yes there's new SKUs and so far I don't see a price difference between Sys gen 3 and gen 2. I don't think they're treating the new Sys gen 3 as something to clearance the Gen 2, so far.

From what I’ve seen, the SKU is changing for tools in the Systainer3. This came up in a thread or two as well, and I think Shane Holland posted new SKUs for some of the tools.

Not sure there’s anything left to out on sale (clearance). Part of the issue with current Festool inventory levels is waiting on the Systainer3.

I forgot to factor in the lack of inventory.  I am newer to Festool and last year's battery change allowed me to buy more than I should.  I  was hoping the systainer change would be another buying opportunity.  Thanks for bursting my bubble.

As already noted, Festool is probably waiting on the new Systainers from Tanos AND they are also short on regular tool inventory as the Covid issue has prompted people to stay at home with time on their hands so the normal Festool inventory levels are severely depleted. My local Woodcraft store literally has 10-12 tools available where they would have over 50+ in inventory.

Add to that, Festool is also having supply chain issues just like Woodpeckers and Home Depot...

Then throw in the shipping issues with USPS & UPS. A merchant in Canada has informed me that the normal 2 week turn-around time has been increased to 4-6 weeks.

Everyone is short on tool inventory. As the old systainers are packaged and sold with the tools, and inventory is depleted they are then converted to the nextgen systainer? That’s my summation... so no deals on old skus

It took months to get my RO150 after ordering but when it did show up it was in the newest systainer and 10$ more expensive.
