Yeah, just wondering if anybody heard of anything as far as when to expect P100 filters to be available again, and offered at normal prices...or is that retail system broken forever. Mine are getting about used up and I used to get real 3M 2091’s for about $6 / pair.
Will woodworkers ever get our P100 filters back?

fwiw - I had a nice chat with tech support at 3M a while back asking about supplies for the trades and about cleaning existing filters. I often washed my P100’s a few times when they got dirty. I learned that the dacron (?) fill they use has an electrostatic charge that gives many of their dust filters their ratings. Washing with water, or soap, or alcohol etc. greatly diminishes the charge and the micron rating. Instead he suggested using the filters, dirty or not, for as long as I could, until a reduction in air flow was noticeable. They had no idea when they can start suppling trade houses.
Ok I found some N100 masks by 3M. They are model 8233
Sales told me they don’t expect filters until winter time. They deal with 3m directly. 90% of their supply goes to medical and 10% to industry like construction or even woodworkers. They sell out in one hour wherever they become available. I must have got lucky.
Good luck. I was kind of wiping off the outside of my P100ks with alchohol but won’t do anything to them now. I will get the N100ks Monday. I got 7 of them. Bought em out. I figure they should last me until winter when supply “hopefully” gets better.

Since you mentioned wiping down the outside of filter, I'll add the rest of the conversation:
As far as a virus goes 3M said it would be trapped in the middle of the inner media, not on outside or inside ('if' it gets trapped). If I thought I was in an environment where I could have been exposed, I was to later remove the mask and let it sit for 72 hours before reusing.
