The cat is 100 percent out of the bag on this new product.
The video posted today looks awesome and I want this Driver YESTERDAY!

I will be purchasing a Set with the drill chuck and right angle attachment.
I will also purchase a "Skin" or tool only, if this option becomes available down under.

My question is, who wants one?

Do you prefer a normal drill or is this driver the be all and end all for your needs?

Cheers, Justin.

ill stick with my panasonic. It has varible speed belt clip led battery indicator and a wallet friedly price tag

For the price of this new impact driver, the closest comparison would be the Hilti SID 144-4 impact driver.

Hilti Weight is 1.6kg.
Festool Weight is 1.7kg. (Not too bad.)

The Hilti has a Maximum Torque of 140 Nm.

The new Festool TI 15 has a Maximum Torque of 100 Nm.

That's a massive difference. I sure hope Festool have understated the Maximum Torque Level.

I would love to know the Maximum Decibel Level of the Festool.
The Maximum Decibel Level of the Hilti is 104 dB.

Regards, Justin.

Thats expensive........ [scared] thats about £560... i think mine was  £279+ VAT...
I got the SFH-22a for £299+ VAT...

and the panasonic has 150nm and weighs 1.5kg.......

I have not had much experience with the Pany's.
Only had a chance to use one once onsite for about 2 hours.

I  will be very interested to hear from Panasonic owner's when they can do a side by side comparison with the Festool.

when my dealer has 1 in i will have a play as i have had the panasonic for 2 years now

You can get the Panasonic impact driver and combi drill set for about £280....( i lied £296) [big grin]

John...

i have been setting off the purchase of a festool general use drill, already having a Bosch 14.4 and the CXS.
i don't really need an impacter as the CXS fulfills my needs, but i thought that if the festool impact would also be able to drill then i would consider that one.
so apparently it has mediocre specs compared to the competition, but if i want to buy a festool drill. why would i not get the TI 15 instead of the T15 or 18?
the only thing that scares me is the reliability, especially in such a tool. the first T15's and carvexes had lots of quality problems so i read.
if i get the TI, it won't be on the first day of release

Down side to the  Panasonic is that it only has 1 year warranty AND  their warranty is not as good nor is the back up.

the  year warranty is great with the t15 because it breaks and the 1yr is good with the panasonic because it doesnt [big grin]

Well that's all good until it does break!  I told rexy to sell protool and showed him my auto feed gun and he loved it and now he sells pro tool.  So I said you should sell panasonic at least the impact drill it's very good he told me no chance until they up the warranty.  I said it has 1year he said it actually has no warranty he said that 1year warranty doesn't mean much.  He said he wanted to sell the stuff and he went talking to a panasonic rep and asked how the service back up is like and warranty. And he said he was basically told der is no warranty really and service.     Don't shoot the messenger this is what I was told!

Panasonic: Best drills on the market!
I also love my Protool PDC18 (in new Festool T18 is the protool motor :-))
Because of the 4 gears you have.
Best drills? Hmmm... It looks like it has fixed chucks.  And then there is the 1 year warranty.  Poor.  Having personal experience with Panasonic customer service and support, I can tell you it is ABYSMAL!!!  Nice, limited function, but NOT the best.

Quit with the hype, and support your statements with facts and pics of your personal experience with the tools!
