Hi all,
Maybe not of very high importance, but since I can get all machines Festool makes here in Denmark, I would like to be able to get all the bits and bobs taht Festool have made, like the Stabila made level, the band ruler etc. I have spoken to Festool Denmark a couple of times, to Germany likewise a number of times. And they say no. Not possible. When I contact some Festool dealers in other countries, they say no, we have the goods, but are not allowed to sell to foreign countries.
Honestly I don't care if Festool makes this or that thing, but all markets should have the same possibilities. I can order a silly little electronic thing for my camera from China from the other side of the planet, and get it in my mailbox in less that 5 days and for no money. But I cannot get a level from Festool in Germany, which is 180 Km's from where I live.
I think that's really stupid, and I wish Festool would take it serious for the common benefit of all of us all over the world.
That's my wish.

Cheers,
jacques  [wink]

Jacques,

We in North America feel your pain, and it is about more than a Stabila level for us!

Ditto on that.  It's like Festool has a whole truck load of stuff, and all that we've got over here is one skid's worth.  [mad]

Thanks for the replies. Yess I can imagine that it's quite irritating that for some weird reson, Festool chooses to look very different on the individual markets. I mean, seen from a european point of view, NA is a huge market, with lots of potential. All that crap with stickers like: "don't dry your cat in this oven"-stuff is supid and not really an issue any more.
It may have come to the attention of Festool by now, that the users of Festool are more scarse than for many other brands, for example caused by pricing. Price is often overcome, but not this strange unavailability, which for some strange reason is kept by the company. We have the new machines almost as soon as they hit production here in Denmark, but hardly ever see the nice small accessories.
Man, I have put so much time in this, and to no good. Allways a: "no, can't do that. Try in a year"...
Makita, Bosch, Dewalt, Fein, Stihl and others may laugh the behinds off, because they see the most fanatical users buy Festool, but in the same time Festool refuse to deliver and sell their goods to the very same fanatical users...Very strange to me at least.
I sincerely hope Festool worldwide reads this and many other good posts on this and other likewise sites, and give it an extra thought. Just maybe, it would be worthwhile trying to actually expand their sales...??
Enough moaning, but if anyone's got a good idea of how to get the aforementioned items, please give me a hint here.
Otherwise I am completely satisfied with all the Festool stuff I already have, and use as much as possible. But of course we all have that same experience and know.
At least I think that Festool should give us, the ones who pay money for their products, a choice. Or is that too much to ask?

Cheers,
Jacques.

Festool can be sold any where in Europe so  a Dealer in the UK can sell to you or Holland or France who ever.  A uk retailer CAN not sell to the USA out side of europe though no European country can.

Juat sent them an email.

Some praise is also to be written here as well, as I some time ago, again asking Festool Denmark about this, recieved a nice package containing a ruler, a cap and a nice little traveling clock, all bearing the Festool brand. Very nice and thankyou.
But I'll still like to buy that level, please. So we'll see about that email to rexcrystal.

Cheers,
jacques.

Why cant you just drive to Germany and buy what you want, If you are only 180 Km's away.  If they still will not sell too you I'am sure you can find someone in Germany to buy it for you.

Wasn't the Festool branded Stabila level strictly an NA affair? In that case you wouldn't be able to buy it in Germany.
Too bad, as I probably would have bought one, as long as it was denoted with metric measurements. The "bridged" vial with integrated ruler is clever enough to make me want one. Ever since seeing this develish gimmick, I'm constantly wishing that at least one of my trusty Sola levels would be equipped with it.
D@mn you Festool! You even make the slippery slope extend to other brands... It's just unfair!

Regards,

I could I suppose, but gas and the ferry would add up in 100 euro extra. Not worth for a few small items like a level. So I may ask a friend if he is going to go there to get some cheap Danish Carlsberg Christmas beers in December. Good idea. (Or I could ask my wife if she wants to go to Berlin on a nice weekend trip, he he [big grin]).

Yeah, it's surely slippery [scared]. Now I saw the Ro90DX, and I would really like that, since it can fill out a lot of tasks in only one machine [big grin]. Just perfect for my use, since I am not a pro woodworker like many of you good guys.

Cheers,
jacques.

I tried ordering the festool saw blade bag from www.rexcrystal.co.uk.  He stated he could not ship to the states.. [mad]  I can understand the power tools themselves but a bag, I think it is ridiculous.

festoolman,

I'll look for the name of the U.K. dealer I bought my FS-BAG-PA from and PM you.  How's that?

I have asked him.  He has been told not to ship anything festool out side Europe.  Its his job ain't he does not want to risk Festool giving him a good hiding!
