Hi,

Not sure if anyone can chime in from Festool or anyone with knowledge on future plans, but I was curious to know if there are any plans for the following:

Brushless RTS 400 lower profile sander?

Brushless Domino or updated combined unit?

New Jointer/router table?

Brushless detail polisher?

Curious if any of these are possibilities in the future. I appreciate your comments in advance!

We can all speculate, but until Festool makes an announcement we will likely not know what they are working on.

I'm thinking they don't want to tell their competitors how to beat them.

Welcome to the FOG!!!

There's a post pinned at the top of this section titled: "I wish Festool made a _______!"  Lots of suggestions/items in there.

My random thoughts and ramblings as an observer who owns more Festool that he needs and who doesn't work with tools professionally or even in any industry that's close to semi-adjacent to power tools and manufacturing:

Brushless RTS400: A rectangular low-profile sander of a similar build to the ETS/EC line sounds interesting but I don't know how practical it would be.  The ETS/EC line is much longer in the body than the ETS, which makes flat sanding easier for extended periods, but makes getting into tight spaces a chore.  In my head, a rectangular sander is used inside boxes and other assembled pieces; in that case, narrow bodies and tall profiles are usually prescribed.

Brushless/updated Domino:  They'll probably start working on one soon, to be released shortly after the patents expire and competitors start to come to market against the original Domino machines.  Otherwise, there is little incentive to reinvent that which cannot be competed against.

Router table: NVR switches in hand-held tools neutered the CMS system.  As Festool's brand is about system integration and job-site portability, they're likely not working on a stationary table with a spindle.  The Basis/CMS hit the sweet spot of being able to use their hand power tools in a portable table system at the time.

Brushless detail polisher:  Festool completely discontinued their polishing lineup.  I wouldn't hold my breath on this.

Just my thoughts and ramblings.

Thank you for your reply to my original post.

I didn’t realize Festool discontinued their polisher. I just sold my Makita, looks like I’ll be in the market for another one.

Hopefully Festool keeps releasing more brushless tools as they make updates to current models. Cheers
