Guys,
I am considering buying and adding to my Sawstop.
Does anyone have the Wixey and if so how accurate is it.
Anyone with a sawstop put this on?

Thanks,
Frank

I have contemplated the same thing, but have not jumped in.  To me the exact repeat-ability of a cut is the benefit.  I posted on another board about this (not specifically for a SawStop) and got what you would expect.  A mixed bag of answers.  I did get this recommendation, and if I jumped in I would probably go with this solution

http://www.proscale.com/products/digi/digi-fence.htm

It is a bit more than the Wixley but I believe its a better product.  If you jump in let me know how it works out.

I've added a Wixey to my saw stop and I love it.  Very accurate and repeatable.   Specs are: resolution of .005”, 1/32”, or 0.1mm along with an accuracy of .002” per ft. of measuring length and a repeatability of +/-.0025”.   It's a great addition to the the sawstop or any table saw.

I did decide to fabricate my own mounting brackets, but it was just a matter of drilling some holes in a piece of flat bar stock.  The supplied brackets did work, but I wasn't 100% satisified with how they mounted.

I think the Proscale is the one my Dad has, and if it is, you have to disconnect a wire to take the fence off the saw, which I don't have to do with the Wixey.  Both are nice units - I'm sure you'd be happy with either one.

I also have the Wixey digital readout.  I put  it on my Steele City Cabinet saw a few years ago.  I love it.  Best thing since sliced bread.  Very accurate and repeatable results all the time.  I plan on getting a Saw stop in the future and have already purchased another Wixey when it was on sale.
