According the the email I got Bessey is discontinuing the Gross Stabil clamps.  IMO these clamps are better than Besseys and Jorgies and these prices are great.

I checked Amazon and they haven't dropped the price yet and I don't know if they will.  Shipping at Woodpeckers is reasonable.

I've got a bunch of these and they are my favorite over the others.

Now isn't this typical of what happens when one company buys another.  The Gros Stabil clamps are, I think, a better product than the Besseys, and now that Bessey owns them they're discontinuing their manufacture.  I guess it's just a matter of knocking off the good competition and cornering the market.  :-[

thanks for the heads up.  the savings more than paid for the shipping to hawaii.

Thanks for the tip Bill, I just ordered 16 of those puppies and got the discount...  That worked out to be a fantastic savings and shipping was about $50 for all of them...

What you'll probably see is Bessey incorporating some or all of the Gross Stabil features into their K body clamps.  Until they bought Gross Stabil, they probably could not use the features because of patents.

Bill, thanks for the posting.

The thing I hate about my Jorgies is that the darn clamp head always comes crashing down on my fingers...it wont stay where I put it.

A feature of the GS clamps is that you can adjust the friction the clamp body puts on the bar, thus making them slide more or less easily.  I have mine adjusted so they have just enough friction to stay where I put them.

Oh, you adjust them by tightening or loosening the 4 screws near the bar on the clamp body

Hey Bill
I just ordered two 48" and two 60" Gross Stabil clamps. Saved $126! Great deal.
Signing up on the e-club was no hassle at all.
No telling how much money you saved our clamp challenged members like me.

Thanks a bunch for thinking of us.
