Is this the closest they've ever come to a traditional speed square?

Anyone plan on getting the six inch one?? I know I want the smaller one, but can not justify both of them, when I can use the smaller one, my 1281 and a speed square to do pretty much the same things...

In the past, it seems this is one of those OTTs that people actually clamor in support for, alongside perhaps the large framing square and the Paolini pocket rule.

So let's hear it DelVe square lovers - do you actually use this thing a lot and which size?

I'm a fan of the smaller DelVe Square.  It fits nicely in my shop apron.  Very useful.  I don't need the larger one or any of the cases. Although the cases probably help with shipping

I have the original aluminum small one and use it constantly, every day I'm in the shop.  If I lost it, I'd immediately try to get another one.

To those with other stainless and aluminum Woodpeckers tools, does the joint loosen over time?

Shane, there was also a 6" Carpenter's Square.  I just found it on Woodpeckers' website.  I've attached a photo of mine.  BTW, it's no more (or less) accurate than a Swanson Speed Square.

Shane,

Would you have any access to the 6” one-time tool carpenter square? Regretfully did not order one when it was available.

Thanks

Rob

Even though paying with Canadian funds and paying for terrible shipping costs, I'm seriously considering buying one of these. I can envision a number of uses for these squares!

That is of course if I can't find a Canadian equivalent of these squares.  [sad]

Give Woodpeckers a call they may have a couple of leftovers.

I had an issue with one of mine and they sent me a new one and I then returned the defective one in the same packaging.

FWIW...I have a metric and an imperial version and I love using both of them. Good purchase.  [big grin]

I have the one with the 4 holes in the base, and really like. It mostly stays in the shop though.  So I think I'll be ordering up the Delve square.  I use .9mm pencils for trim work, and they don't cooperate with the rougher casting of the Swanson speed square.

My only reservation is the stepped edge. But there appears to be enough contact surface.

I order several times from Ultimatetools, always accurate and fast. Free shipping over $150CAD

Like Shane said today is the pre-order deadline.

I also pre-order the Mini-Systainer cordless drills. That is the first time I see that kit on a Canadian retailer.
