I know it's a lot of money (and even more now since the Woodpeckers price increase), but for me, these squares have proven to be worth their weight in gold.

Both of them, but especially the 26" square, have become an integral part of my carpentry.  Whenever I need to cut a straight square edge with the tracksaw, I use the 26" to set the rail.  For knocking down sheet goods the 26" is the only thing I trust to get me that first perfectly square cross cut.  When doing mid-panel dominoes I will clamp one of the squares to the board and register the machine against it to get perfectly square domino placement for shelving.

Plus, the lifetime guarantee is for real.  Over the Summer I noticed that my 26" had bent slightly and gone out of square.  Sent it in and they sent me a brand new one for free.

One of the best investments I've ever made in a measuring/layout tool.

Excellent square. Always use it somehow breaking down sheets. One of the few Woodpecker tools that is unique AND highly purposeful.

In this instance, the "case" is the MDF with the cutout as shown in the photos.

How often does this OTT come around? I see the utility and value but I just ordered the TSO rail square and don't want to double dip. I understand the WP OTT square is good for so many other things.

The little saddle squares (I have the middle one) and the big carpenter square are the only WP tools I've bought but they both get a lot of use. Now that I also have the TSO big triangle the big WP square stays where it's safe as it's a lot more delicate (structurally) than the triangle.

This is the 6th generation.  [eek]  It's produced almost on a yearly basis. The first was produced in 2011 then again in 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016 and now in 2018.

Just noticed that I purchased mine in 2012 for $169. They have gone up a bit.

Love the TSO square for cutting sheet goods.  [cool]

As a framing square it looks useless. How do you layout rafters or stairs with that 1/4" step on the one leg? For squaring your track on your mft, which woodpecker seems to include in most of its videos, looks great.

With how thin it is I wouldn't count on it for squaring the MFT by itself

That was my thought. Framing square is a misnomer. This should be called "big expensive square".

I bought the metric versions of both of these squares a couple years back.  I mounted the case on the side of the Kapex cart I build.  I like them both and use them both but find the 600 mm version gets the most use.

These squares along the Paolini pocket rule which was a OTT for like the fifth time a few days back should be AAT (always available tools).

I think with these squares, the Paolini pocket rule and a WP hook rule I am set for WP measuring and marking solutions for a while.

Any thoughts on which one/ones to get?  I plan to get them to square up an MFT and general marking as well as squaring up cabinet boxes.

I'm tempted to buy both but then it would have to be snuck out to the shop before my better half saw the receipt.
