Woodpeckers latest OneTIME Tool, the Parallel Guide System (PGS), is designed and engineered as the ultimate solution for making reliable parallel cuts when teamed with Festool’s Guide Rail and Track Saw.

Available in metric and imperial scales.

Woodpeckers OneTIME Parallel Guide System

Order deadline is Monday, May 22, 2017.

Hey Shane,

I've been trying to figure out what is different between this OTT and the Festool version. Any insight? I have a TSO track square and have just used that for squaring cuts.

I'm a homeowner not a professional, but I have been really pleased with the other OTTs I have purchased.

Thanks!

Kevin

[member=62215]thekevmeister[/member], great question.

Let's face it, the principle behind the parallel guide options from various companies (Festool, Seneca, Woodpeckers, etc) is very similar. There's not a lot of differences from one to the next. Woodpeckers does have a nice setup for calibration and working with narrow stock with the guide bars (shown in the video). You can also break these down into smaller sections which would help with manageability and moving it around, as well as storage.

Thanks Shane!

Yeah, I guess I have a more fundamental question as well - do you think the parallel guide systems present enough of a benefit over a track square (especially for a not-full-time use like me) to be worth it?

What appeals to me about the Woodpeckers solution is that it breaks down and fits in a Systainer...if it wasn't a OTT then I'd just wait til I realized I needed it. :) Just trying to squint at the future now and decide if I'll ever wish I had a more precise setup than the track square, in which case their disassemble-able design is very appealing to me and my itsy bitsy workshop/garage.

Thanks for the help! (also, any idea when the OTT corner jigs that are supposed to ship in May will be heading out?)

Parallel guides don't necessarily allow you to do anything you can't do with your guide rail by itself. They are about speed and efficiency. Being able to quickly bang out a bunch of cuts of equal width. You can do that with the guide rail by itself, or in combination with your track square, but you would need to measure and mark every cut. So, whether they represent value is up to how much you do those types of cuts. A common use would be something like breaking down sheet goods into cabinet panels.

The Woodpeckers website says the Corner Jig will be shipped by mid-May, so I would think they should be inbound to us any time now. I have requested a status update on them.
