Woodpeckers Precision Framing Squares

One question I have is an 18" square or triangle sufficient to square up the fence and guide rail on an MFT? It would seem that it would be since the depth from back to front only allows another 4" - 6" beyond 18". For me the square would be better since I would use it to make sure both inside and outside cuts are square as well as square up the MFT fence/guide rail.

Thanks Stoli.  That's about what I thought.  I think my 1281 square works well enough for checking the outside of a corner.  Easier to hold one handed than the 26", I would think.

Oh yes, the 18" is sufficient to square up an MFT.  Works great.  I don't see how the 26" square would work any better for the MFT.

The triangle works very well for inside corners of a cabinet.  Stands up on its own.

Well i nealy bought the 450mm and 660mm frame square put it in the shopping cart.

The aussie dollar is falling so at about $500 au its hurting

I've been on the email list for their framing squares for awhile.  I was thrilled to get the email a few weeks ago, and with some hesitation, ordered the 26" model.  But I did not get the case.  My wife and I have been burning the money like crazy lately, and had to cut corners somewhere.  [wink]

We are doing a Rhine River Cruise in April, which was a pretty large hit to the pocketbook.  Then, our youngest daughter gets engaged, so we have wedding expenses on top of that.  Looks like my Festool Shop Apron I purchased about a month ago is the only new Festool product I'll be using this year ...  [smile]

I got a 1281 to square my MFT.  Before getting the 1281 I could not get the MFT dead on square.  Turns out my speed square was off just a little.  The 1281 sold me on Woodpeckers so I ordered the 450mm and 660mm set today.  Decided I wanted both and liked the package deal.  To make up the difference I deferred some clamps and some non tool stuff I was considering.

Usually being in the US is a bad with all the NAINA tools.  For once its good to be in the US - avoid the currency risk and sky high shipping.

Now the wait begins.

will the square be available again? I seem to have missed the last run. I have been away from fog for some time. I am in the UK but would really like to get one of the 660mm versions.

Regards

I originally missed the deadline as well, but I ended up getting lucky and secured both the 26" and 18" through a WTB post in the FOG classified section.  There are no guarantees, of course, but it may be worth a shot.
