Woodwork in the Bathroom

This was a remodel on my only bathroom that took far longer than I ever thought possible.  Almost everything was done by me.  I paid someone else to redo a couple parts that I was not so successful at (plastering..  harder than it appears).

In addition to redoing the casing for the window, I decided to put up some oak baseboard and wainscoting along the wall. This served to decorate the room, and also to cover up a very strange horizontal joint.  The radiator cover provides a little extra storage.

The oak was stained with 2 coats of General Finishes Black Waterbased Stain, scuffed with 400, and then received 3 coats of High Performance applied with a foam brush.

I learned a lot doing this one.  I think I fully appreciate why Gary Katz likes those collins clamps so much.  Applying bolection molding one at a time around a not-so-flat wall is a bit of a pain.

Before anything was done.

Looks good, quite an improvement!  I like the floor too but can't tell, what material is it?

The floor when I bought the place was stick on vinyl.  Under that was the original 1930s mosaic tile.  That wasn't in the best of shape and the installation wasn't very good.  So I put down a ceramic tile that was from the home depot of all places.  It looks great in person.
