Working with Valchromat

Anyone have experience with Valchromat?

I’m thinking of using this for some surfaces and doors in a suite of furniture for a design studio.
The overall look would be a combination of birch ply and the Valchromat, all with a (more-or-less) clear finish - lacquer or whatever - with a few smaller non-sheet-goods parts picked out in brighter painted colours, textures, or raw aluminium details.
(I’m not good at paint finishes, so largely designing them out of the equation!)

Will the Valchromat need the same sort of handling as regular mdf with regard to sanding and absorbency (especially the edges); I’ve been told it cuts and machines more cleanly, but I’ve never handled the stuff the before.

I’m assuming the same considerations re. dust and health apply as for mdf.

I’m thinking I should just invest in a sheet and experiment before committing myself to this, but any experiences you could share of handling, machining (I’ll have mostly cutting and drilling to do, with only a little routing), gluing, finishing and how the colours respond to finishes, would be welcomed.

Thank you!
