Workshop pants

ok, so this is going to seem like an odd question, but what pants do you guys like to wear in the workshop?  I know that some people like to wear vests with spots for tools, or pants with places for pens\pencils\etc.

I am just an amateur so this really is just a curiosity question.  I am wondering if there are pros and cons to workshop pants that you have found.

I like the Dickies Mens Tough Max Carpenter pants

Light weight, flexible fabric and don't break the bank when you get glue or paint on them.

I prefer an external pocket like Blaklader. I find myself crouching, kneeling and crawling a lot on installs, and those external pockets give me good mobility, and my phone, pencils, etc, aren't trapped in an internal pocket. Additionally, I find the price point difference minimal from other brands like Carharrt or Dickies.
I spend about 55 dollars a pair which is comparable to the Carharrt, which is a lower quality and featured pant (also extremely uncomfortable) or other brands.
The final selling point is the internal foam cell knee pads that are integral to the pants.
Another brand of great work pants is Helly Hansens Chelsea style pants.

All that said I'd say simply try out a variety in store, and check out the features which you feel you could take advantage of. If you wear a toolbelt (I detest them) then Dickies or Carharrt might be just what you are looking for! Experiment! (BTW, a great way to test work pants is to use them to wipe excess glue, caulking and/or filler on them, then wash them to see what happens)
