Would a third party fence trigger the Sawstop on TKS 80 EBS?

I've recently purchased a (2nd hand) TKS 80 EBS and am looking at options for the fence. I'll be mounting this saw to my workbench as I don't need this to be portable so that opens up options from just VB extension. I've searched and found other thread on this forum about people adding other fences, but I wanted to ask and not assume that adding a metal fence wouldn't somehow trigger the sawstop mechanism. I presume it shouldn't matter about anything else conductive even if it's mechanically attached somehow to the saw, unless there is contact with the blade, but I didn't want to just assume.

I've been looking at building something in conjunction with this from Rutlands. In principle there shouldn't be a problem with this, should there? I live in the UK btw.

As long as the fence is not in touch with the spinning saw blade, you're fine.

Won’t the lights on the console warn you about possible trouble before hitting the start button?

That's a good point about the lights, thanks. I hadn't thought of that.
