wow. I actually did something in the shop today

My wife has an antique chest where one of the drawer bottoms was coming out so she asked me to repair it.  It dawned on me that this was the first time in over 3 months where I actually set up my MFT and did something, no matter how simple.  It was also the first day in two and a half months where it wasn't over 100.  She also gave me a great project:  building a new upper cabinet with doors in our utility closet.  At the present, its' just an face frame cabinet with two shelves and no doors.  She want's the stuff on the cabinet hidden.  I could just add doors but she said the current cabinet isn't deep enough and wants more room front to back.  I guess it's time to head over to the hardwood lumber yard and get some poplar (it's going to be painted).  Finally!  October will be a new deck time so that means a Kapex is in my future!  Woo hoo!!  [big grin] [big grin] [big grin] [big grin] [big grin] [big grin] [big grin] [big grin] [big grin] [big grin]

I also find midsummer is too hot for the (metal roofed) workshop; and midwinter is too cold and wet.
I need to think about how to widen the "window" for woodworking.

the LOML is really great about my tool purchases.  She appreciates quality (she married me, right?  [big grin]) so actually she has an appreciation for a well designed and crafted tool.  She doesn't care that the Kapex is double the cost of the Makita, How lucky can a guy get??
