Yacht Joinery - Adhesive advice

I have used quite a bit of the West Epoxy system and it is great.  Easy to use, no measuring and consistent results.  The strength is amazing and the more you use the system the more uses one will find.

West have just come out with the six 10 epoxy tubes which are really easy to use and setup quick.  It becomes just like using a caulking gun.  You have to buy new tips each time but no waste of epoxy.  I have used this for my boat last year and it was really a great product.

Personally, you will spend a bit more with West Systems but the end result will be a very strong waterproof joint.

Hi have been using cascamite professionally for over 30 years in the boat building trade (oystermarine)and using west system for nearly the same time each has its own quirks and if in any doubt we have a simple saying at the yard West is best! On a boat all your glue joints will mostly be fine whichever you use but the golden rule is seal every single square inch of timber with a good quality varnish especially the end grain of ply and solid timber ,water and moisture will get everywhere!
