Yeti Smartbench portable CNC

Interesting product. Thanks for posting.  Seems a little fidgety in setup.  But the actual test will be how it performs.

I look at this machine and wonder how it'd cope with the less than perfectly flat plywood commonly seen these days? Might be better suited to more engineered panels like flakeboard and MDF.

I have looked at this machine and it has a lot of merit - especially its fold-up small footprint. As far as uneven sheet material goes well that will be an issue with any CNC.

Since it can accept material up to 6 inches thick couldn't you build a 4x8 torsion box three inches thick and put a 1/2" MDF spoil board down on top of that. Most CNC Router work takes less than 2 inches of Z travel anyway doesn't it?

Takes the portability away but also eliminates the uneven work surface. To truly do that torsion box or not will require leveling the machine during setup wouldn't it? I watched the setup video and I don't recall them talking or showing anything about leveling, but maybe I missed it.
