Gosh. I am surprised by all the tensions created in this thread!
And I am surprised that the OP was SO disappointed with the responses. I have no idea what response was hoped for.
Had the original post simply been a warning to remove accessories before sending tools for service then I feel the responses would have been on a different tact. But that was not how the original post came across.
Sorry for any offense caused, and thanks for the lesson learned about removing unofficial accessories prior to service.

I haven't been part of this forum as long as others . I have been a member here for a while.
But the one thing that keeps me coming here is the level of knowledge here. Another is the wealth of information here and how it is freely given.
I've asked some pretty wild questions, even some such as the time I posted a photo of a screw and asked where did it come from.
People also use this forum as a sounding board to vent and let people know their experiences both good and bad.
My feelings are that we as a forum should be open and allow anyone to post, ask questions make comments with out fear of having the boots put on him.
In this case , I personally think the OP had every right to vent and let others know his experiance.
This was good info As I didn't know that I should remove any 3rd party products etc from a tool before I sent it to service especially as I have a similar ZCI for my Kapex.
Not that I have a lot of 3rd party products.
I didn't know that they would remove it my home made ZCI if I were ever to bring it in for service.
I do feel the OP handled this very well, kudos to him. Also please keep posting this issues because we all learn from them
