Guys, just what is going on here? I bought this zobo set a long time ago and just about to use it. It isn't centrotec. How do I fit these to my T18?

There are 2 types of Zobo drills.
If it doesn't fit Centrotec, just use the Jacobs chuck.

Thanks for the quick response. It's the second one

The bit sits in a cylinder...do i simply put this into a jacob's chuck and tighten? Excuse the basic question but I thought only hex shaped bits fit into a Jacobs. Will it not slip?

No, Jacobs were originally designed for round bits. Don't be confused by the marketing of driver bits designed for impact drivers.  Just insert and tighten. Most drill bits still have round shafts.

For example -

Got it, thanks all. Zobo bits worked like dream....

...except for the bit where I made the hole exactly the right size for the bolt, and now no room for the socket.

Going to clamp some plywood to the wood, and go for a larger size zobo to increase the hole. Obviously will practice on some scrap first!

How deep is the part that you need to "re-drill"?  If it isnt too deep, you can extend the pint or the pilot bit to the hole and drill as well... i have done that more than a few times!

Cheers.  Bryan.

Bryan, that's great point.....the point is adjustable. There is also a drill bit guide in there. The hole is the depth of one of the smaller bits. So perhaps 1cm.

Awesome, I'll give that a shot. I practiced simply widening the hole with a larger zobo earlier and it wasn't pretty. There is zero control.

I'll try your suggestion in the morning. Much appreciated.

Grab the Zobo you need for clearance for the socket, take a piece of ply and drill through it with the Zobo, center the piece of ply over the undersized hole, clamp the ply to the offending piece and use the ply as a pilot to drill the new diameter.

There are always Allen head bolts to save the day.

Thank you this worked like a charm
