Anyone know of a router bit with 1/2" cutting diameter, bottom bearing (template - not flush trim), spiral or even better, compression spiral? I assume it'd need to be 1/4" shank to allow for a 1/2" bearing.

I often run parts over the router table, on top of the pattern, clamped down, so flipping over and using a flush trim isn't an option I don't think. Am looking for the smoothes finish possible, cutting all manner of grains.

I have the Infinity bits, 3 piece set. One of them has been in my OF1010 since they came in. It has been great. I have used it on birch ply, red oak, poplar and cherry. It has done well on all of them.

Now we're talking! That 1/2" looks good. I'll just leave one with the top bearing removed for templating.

Great, I think the 1/2" is what I'll get then.

Why does it need to have a 1/2" cutting diameter?

For getting into tight concave curves.
