Started this but boat yard has opened and delayed completion, thankfully customer is a boat owner in my boat yard and understands the delay

Sal

Sal, that looks pretty sweet and an old guy like you can still move those cabs around?, impressive. How are you attaching those FFs on site? Cant wait for the 12th, gonna be fun, Eric

I need understanding clients!  I love the progress!  Can't wait to see the cabs with the doors & drawers fronts on!!!

Are you doing the finishing?

Bob

Yes on the finishing,   Using Watco Cherry Stain followed by Watco Wiping Poly .
Doors are done need to be installed.
The center Unit has raised panel doors upper and lower. The outside units have glass doors upper and glass shelves and raised panel on the lower doors.
The outside units will have LED down lighting to display the china

Sal

Sal. Looks good. That seems to be a big piece?  Keep us posted on the progress.

Sal, looking great thus far.

Are your boxes domino'd together?  Appears that you attach face frames with dominos from what I can tell?

Also wondering how your shelves are suspended as they don't appear to be on adjustable shelf pins - I do see your Kreg case so pocket holes from below perhaps?

Thanks.

Love the photo progression... in the first series, each photo added another box to the outside!  It's huge!

Like the curve of sapwood on the top rail.  Dunno if it was intentional, but I like it there.

Keep posting progress as the boat yard lets you.

Yeh - could have played some symmetry with the pieces on the left and second right top rails.

Nice stuff though - HUGE cabinet !

sal,  looking good like the design..

I see the KREG  pocket screw tool box you bought, I bought the same thing, turned out to be to big to carry in van now just sits in shop sleeping

Sal, love the look of the cabinet, especially the tiered depths! Great Job!

PS - who the heck uses China anymore???

I often wonder why people get funny about seeing sapwood or knots in a real timber piece of furniture, it just seems oxymoronic!
I like that you included those pieces in the build, though I suspect some of it will be hidden by a crown mould/cornice  [wink]
Please post the conclusion to this project when the boating madness calms down ;D ( Been there, the mad rush to get boats back into the water, repaired, upgraded and freshly anti-fouled.... [big grin] )
Rob.

P.S.
RMW-PS - who the heck uses China anymore???
People who commission cabinets to house their collection!  [wink]  ;D ;D

Well doors are done, glass in outer doors temporarily glass shelves in for now, door hinges holes installed, now stain and finish time

Sal

Sal, that looks sweet unfinished. Cant wait to see what you have up your sleeve, Eric

Sal, nice work!  Didn't know you actually used the tools.  Thought you just came in and liked to bs about'em ;)

I believe Sal is a Gentleman Collector in addition to being a Craftsman - he enjoys his tools.  [big grin]

Sal, beautiful work and I really like the design. Can't wit to see it finished.

Well finally done and delivered, sorry it took so long to post. Been busy at the boatyard, actually more than I wanted to be, anyway give it a look.

Have no clue what that ghostly circle is on the first picture

Sal

Sal, they turned out gorgeous! Almost a shame to clutter them up with china...  [big grin]
