1010, 1400 router

Need more info than what you posted....

Lots of help here, but give us a bit more to go on! [smile]

Cheers,

I could be wrong but I do not think the Festool routers will fit into non-Festool router tables, unless you do some modifications and rig something together.

I'll probably get flamed for saying this, but I think Festool routers are best hand held.  I have both the OF1010 and OF1400 and love them both; they each have their strengths and weaknesses.

The OF1400 is great for power and 1/2" bits, and the depth adjustment is superior.

The OF1010 is better for lightweight work and for edge trimming - there is no chip deflector for the OF1400 when using the edging plate.

But in a table I have a Triton, which is great (in a table) and dreadful handheld.  The strengths of the Triton are through the table height adjustment and spindle lock when fully raised (so you only need one spanner).  I only have the baby one, but I've never found it wanting.  But then I am only a hobbyist and have time...

Andrew.

I have two Porter Cable 7518s mounted in Bench Dogs router lifts.  Coupled with Keen Products Dust Router, Festool CMS hose and Onieda Dust Deputy, they do anything I need cleanly and I do commercial/industrial work.  That being said I have both the 1010 and 1400 for hand work and they are unparalleled.
