I am really disappointed with the dust collection on my 1010. I have tried a simple 3/8 roundover using the included chip collector and also using the edge guide I purchased along with the chip collector included with the unit. Doesn't seem to me that I am getting much at all. I use a c-22 for a vacuum.  I note from the picture and description in the catalog that there is a dust collection hood included with the edge guide. There was not one included with my edge guide (489427). Maybe I am missing a part. Do any others have complaints with not catching enough dust when edging ?

The main reason for the purchase of these expensive tools was for the dust collection for me. I now know that there are alot of other quality features to these tools. Any advice would be appreciated, ron

I've had good success using the chip catcher - 493180.  When using bearing-guided edge bits and the vacuum turned up to near highest velocity I've found it does a good job.  It's not 100% collection, but beats any other router I've used.

I also have the dust hood item 484453 that I use from time to time.  While I think it was designed for the V600 dovetail jig, it might be a consideration for you as well.

My edge guide does not have a vacuum hose attachment but it does have a replaceable plastic hood on it per the website.

Good luck -

neil
