I bought my first festool last year.a TS55 and 1.4 m rail and Midi extractor,
my problem is I live in London in the UK and to be able to work on building sites here your tools have to be 110V,which really is annoying my transformer is 3.3KVA and its to bloody heavy to be carting around from job to job and the power is just not there.
I have now bought a Kapex 120 in 240v because iam fed up of not having the power as previously all my saws have been 110v , but now my kapex is not compatable with my extractor ahhhh.
FESTOOL SUPORT ANSWER was they recommend all there 110v tools should run of a 5 kva transformer, have you seen the size and weight of those things.
extremely annoyed wish my first purchase was 110 v,whoever makes the laws in this country site tools should be 240v also now with modern circuit breakers and RCD's anyone else in UK find this frustraiting?

In this day and age, think it's bonkers.

What finished me off, was working in huge, old printing works being
renovated to provide 'units' for small start up businesses and the like.

The designated Heath & Safety guy didn't have a clue.
240v extension leads snaking all over the place; mine having a 110v transformer + 110v Midi on
the end.
Pretty sure this sort of situation been mentioned before.

Complete lack of 'real world' appreciation of health and safety - eg's of which
won't go into now.  Finished what I had to do - then just didn't go back.
That was me done with such nonsense - never again.

Would be a bit more sympathetic, if sites were required, by law, to provide 'meaty' 110v
circuits throughout where needed.

[Edit to make clear that 110v transformer + Midi, on the end of 240v extension lead].
