110v ets

Wanted to use my NAIUK 110v ETS 125 tonight ,chopped of the American 110v plug to fit a uk style 110v plug .stripped back the flex and it's got black cable and a white cable ..maybe it's me but not sure witch is witch

PS couldn't use another plugit because it's a different fitting (but I'm sure that's another storey )
