Hi,
my 3 year old sander has been running rough for the past month.
Intermittently, it tends to start up and vibrate and whine. Then when I touch it down to a flat surface it grabs the wood is hard to control.

I'm not sure what's wrong, but it needs servicing. I'm trying to determine if this is worth servicing, not sure what it will cost to fix.
It's seen moderate use.
thanks,
David

Hi,

  Welcome to the forum!  [smile]

Call Festool service. They will certainly be able to help you determine what to do about the problem. # in my sig line.

Seth

It could be a damaged pad brake or the plastic on the back of the pad could be cracked. But, like Seth suggested, a call to the service team would be best. They'll be able to help diagnose it over the phone.
