One of my two 18V batteries died this week.  It was only 18 mon old.  After contacting Festool, I sent it in for repair.  I just got an email they have decided to replace it, but it will take about 17 weeks.  I thought the FOG should know about that in case they run into the same problem.  At $120 each, I’m hesitant to go buy another one (if available) from my local dealer so will just be patient.

If you can spare the 120$ right now & it's not taking food of your table, get one. Even though Festool replaces the defective battery for free.

Everything "Li" - especially battery packs - will get very interesting in the not so distant future.

I'm also highly curious to see if past offers of "buy bare tool, get a battery for free" will make a comeback this year, speaking of Germany/Europe.

EDIT: Should have checked the date of the original post, sorry!

Kind regards,
Oliver

By the way, Festool repaired and sent back my battery so hopefully it will still live a long life.  Got it back early Jan.  I appreciated that.  Sandy
