Has anyone had an 18v battery fail to charge? Bought the PDC set and on its first charge one of the two battery fails to charge. Has a flashing red warning light come up on the TCL charger.

The other battery charges fully and suspect the charger and other battery are both okay.

First time I've ever had something go wrong on a festool, am I doing something wrong? Anybody had any similar experiences?

Check the voltage w/ a multimeter?

Lithium ion batteries are shipped with a 40% charge. Most common mode of failure for lithium batteries is self-discharging below an acceptable level. Most chargers won't charge batteries that fall below 2.7V/cell (so 13.5v assuming the cells are balanced), either from sitting too long on a shelf or a short.

Either way, just call Festool and they'll replace it.

I had exactly that with a PDC battery out of the box.

I didn't have it slotted into the charger correctly.
