The 2007/2008 catalogue is currently available for download from Festool's German website. The catch is that it's in German, so the ultra-impatient may want to take some language lessons! 

The catalogue has been split into individual chapters in PDF format, and you can go to the list of chapters by clicking on the link marked "Jetzt unseren Katalog als PDF downloaden".

For those who don't have time for the language lessons, you can try Google's Language Tools on-line translation service were you can enter the URL of a web page and get it translated into the language of your choice, or copy and paste selected text from a foreign webpage and get that text translated.

Whilst very handy, the translation can be rather awkward at times, and at other times it will leave you scratching your head. For example the "Drilling and screwdriving" section appears as "Boring and Screwing", which is nice and clear; "Dust Extraction" is "Suck", which is understandable; whilst the "Sanding" section is "Loops" and "Polishing" is "Foremen", which is where the head-scratching comes in!

Another similar on-line translation service is Altavista's Babelfish.

Well, the PDF is about 25mb, so it would take a bit of time to download, so they are working on reducing it to a more managable size.

I have nice DSL, so I hope they still offer the full size as well as separates. In fact I wouldn't mind if they offered a higher resolution version so I can zoom in...100MB? Downloading separate chapters is annoying, and takes so much time. For me 25MB is a small download, and a moderate upload. But, I would rather have a printed version anyway.

No, not hyper-anticipation, but it is extremely well done, quite informative and worth the wait.

WHere's a Welshman when you need him?  Pat, could you put Simou on the translation for us and come up with something we can understand in the States?

Unfortunately that won't help in some cases.   While there may be an English translation for "Das Compact Modul System CMS - Vielfalt pur", there's not an American translation.

Yeah but there may be a Welsh/English translation (or even Australian, for that matter) even though not American, if you get my drift.

Oh, yeah!  That's my point!  It translates nicely into Welsh English, Australian English, South African English, and even English English.  But no American English!!! 

Unfortunately, the American English dictionary is controlled by Untranslatable Literature, Inc.  :'(

Maybe sometime in the distant future.

How long does it usually take to receive the 2007 catalog? I have requested one twice, back in June and once a couple of weeks ago and still nothing.
