2015 Festool Releases

If that were the case about a 5,2ah batt PDC upgrade wouldn't the TSC55 plunge saw also be getting 5.2ah's and the stocks of them being sold off too?

So besides the PDC and an 18v Impact Driver, what other possible Festool tools do you NA guys think would be most popular here?

Personally, I would like to be able to get a TS Insert for the CMS and have it under warranty.  Would also like to be able to use the OF 2200 in the CMS under warranty.  I have held off getting a CMS hoping these additions will be available here in NA someday.  Alas, I have waited a long time....

I'm still waiting for the best of both worlds - a battery-shaped heavy-duty mains transformer, with a socket for a plug-it cord...

I'm sure that the technology exists to do it, but can't understand why no-one does. [unsure]

Maybe something like this one .

5.2 AH batteries, huh? So THAT's why the TSC is NAINA until Spring?

[wink]

Difficult to tell, but the batteries look to be exactly the same format as the existing ones. If that is the case and they haven't added a built in battery gauge then they have seriously missed a trick .

Festool seems recently to be going down the route of having battery gauges on the tools, rather the batteries. Shame they didn't put one on the Carvex, though...

Any news if the DWC will get 5.2Ah as well?

Have my finger on the button to order a set...

I would imagine they will include the higher-capacity batteries on all tools eventually, but it may take a while to filter through.

I'd looooove to get my hands on a Festool 120v DR-18/4 drill, for the simple fact that in very cold weather cordless tools just lose their oomph.

How cold are you talking about here? I thought cold temperature performance was one of the advantages of Lithium battery chemestry.

I've found that Lithium Ion batteries tend to suffer a reduction in performance in temperatures cooler than ~10 F/ -12 C.  This becomes particularly pronounced in temperatures below 0 F/-17 C. Also, the batteries frequently won't take a charge at those temperatures either, requiring you to warm them up before the battery will be accepted by the charger. I've experienced this phenomenon with my Festool, Hilti and Makita Li-Ion batteries.

Granted, I REALLY prefer to not be working in temperatures below ~ 15 F/-9C, but sometimes circumstances trump my comfort and I need to get some work done. When this happens, I need to know that my tools will work and not be a liability.

Years ago I flirted with going largely cordless. Recently, the pendulum has swung to nearly the other extreme for me, where now if I have the option, I generally prefer to go corded. I don't need to worry about losing batteries, jockeying charged and discharged batteries, etc...

Of greatest importance, I don't feel locked in to a battery platform. If I feel that a certain manufacturer has produced a particularly well engineered tool, I just buy it, rather than trying to fit within a battery platform that may or may not reflect the full scope of my wants and needs. For instance, right now I'm rockin' a C15 for my drill and a Makita LXT digital impact driver...

The warranty buys you nothing as they have no way of knowing what tools you have used in your CMS. Furthermore the only part that could fail as a result of using the OF2200 is the switch.

I've just heard from a reliable source who got the information from the latest pricing guide apparently that 2015 will bring:

    • A new style chuck
Any chance that it would be a 1/4 Hex chuck? That'd be great news if you ask me...

Love my cxs, would not bother with the T version. Still waiting on the PDC's here instead they just keep releasing faff.

Completely agree with you. I like the upgrades mentioned for the new version of the CXS and I'll probably purchase it. As far as the PDC, that's absolutely what I'm waiting for in NA too.

I bought a CSX a few months back.  Great drill.  I have used the CSX more than all others since I made that purchase.  I got tried of waiting on the PDC so just purchased a T18 +3.  For my needs (hobbyist and working on my house) I think these two drills and the Centrotec Installers set will cover everything I need for years to come.

No hints on the longed for 18v impact?

I've been told about " possible"18v stand alone impact driver. But no info on when and how much or any other details.
